How To Make a No-Sew DIY Face Mask Out of My Lala Leggings (Option 1)

How to Make a No-Sew Face Mask From Leggings

You will need:

A pair of leggings & Scissors  (Mask filter is optional)

Step 1

To start your DIY leggings face mask, cut off the legging from just below the knee, so you have the part of the leg with the ankle seam. That's what we'll be making the mask out of.

Step 2

Cut the corners of each end to make an oblong shape.

Step 3

You will have a two layer mask. Take one of the flaps of each side and cut it off.

Step 5

Fold in the remaining flap on either side and cut a tiny amount from the seam of the fold. This is going to make your ear loops.

Step 6

Repeat for the other side.

Step 7

If you have access to mask filters, they can be inserted between the mask layers. Even if you don't have filters, this space can be used for a little extra protective material.

Step 8

Most leggings are super stretchy so the cuts for the ear loops DO NOT need to be very large. You can always cut more after trying it on.

Per the CDC:

...the virus can spread between people interacting in close proximity—for example, speaking, coughing, or sneezing—even if those people are not exhibiting symptoms.

It's important to remember that the best way to continue to prevent the spread of the virus is to maintain social distancing--remaining at least six feet away from others. The suggested cloth face coverings are an added measure that ALL Americans should abide by, at the very least in high-transmission areas.

Bear in mind, ordinary citizens SHOULD NOT aim to use surgical masks or N-95 respirators--those should be left for medical personnel only.

Scarves, bandanas, hand towels and t-shirts can all be used to cover your mouth and nose.
